The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Research Council of Italy organize the Workshop “From Offshore Oil and Gas to Deep Seabed Mining: new technologies and emerging issues”, 18-19 November 2020.
This workshop is an opportunity to discuss technological requirements and overlaps between deep seabed mining and the well-established best practices and techniques of the offshore oil & gas industry, new technologies for remote sensing and environmental observing systems and real-time infrastructure monitoring.
Marco Bibuli and Roberta Ferretti (CNR-INM) will contribute to the discussion with a presentation on “Autonomous marine vehicles for environmental monitoring, adaptive sampling and damage identification: smart strategies from harbours to offshore infrastructures”.
